new! "The Copper
Trail"
new!
Written by Mark Camp
The Copper Trail is a new 60 mile circumnavigation around the
whole of Bodmin Moor,
and with its varied and dramatic scenery, is Cornwall's answer to
the Pennine Way!
The book contains detailed information on the route itself, and
there is also a wealth of
additional local and historical information along the way. The
route's attractions include
some of Cornwall's finest scenery, natural features such as
Golitha Falls, plus many
pretty moorland villages and ancient archaeological sites. The
name "Copper Trail" came
about because of the great number of abandoned copper mines
passed along the route.
Price £4-95 ...or £4-50 if you are booking with us!
"Six Walks on and around Bodmin Moor: Volume
1"
Written by Mark Camp
The intention with these three walk books was to create a walk in
each of the eighteen
parishes on Bodmin Moor. The routes taken in the walks show off
the rich and varied
landscapes of Bodmin Moor, and you are navigated through high
moorland as well as
wooded valleys and gentle farmland, with illustrated maps to
guide you round.
"Six Walks on and around Bodmin Moor Volume 1" contains
walks in the parishes of:
St Breward, St Clether, St Neot, Blisland, St Cleer, and North
Hill
(two very good walks near Redgate Smithy in St.Cleer and St.Neot
parishes!)
Price £2-95 ...or
£2-50 if you are booking with us!
"Six Walks on and around Bodmin Moor: Volume
2"
Written by Mark Camp
Six more walks from six more of Bodmin Moor's parishes. Mark Camp
has tried to include
as much information about the archaeological and industrial
history surrounding each
of these walks as is possible, and as in all three books there
are lots of colour photographs,
and the usual illustrated maps to guide you safely round.
"Six Walks on and around Bodmin Moor Volume 2" contains
walks in the parishes of:
Warleggan, Lewannick, Michaelstow, Pensilva/St Ive, Helland, and
Advent Church
(two walks/parishes not far from Redgate Smithy are Warleggan and
Pensilva/St.Ive)
Price £2-95 ...or
£2-50 if you are booking with us!
"Six Walks on and around Bodmin Moor: Volume
3"

the same high standard.
Wherever you are on the Moor, you'll never be too far away from
the start of another walk!
All walks are based on a circular route, and come with full
directions to the start/finish,
plus locations of local pubs, shops and post offices, and public
conveniences.
"Six Walks on and around Bodmin Moor Volume 3" contains

"The Minions Moor"
Written by Peter
Stanier
This excellent book is a fully detailed and illustrated guide to
the most popular and
accessible part of Cornwall's granite heartland of Bodmin Moor.
The book describes an area
both fascinating and varied - with rocky tors, stone circles,
cairns, hut circles, carved stones,
granite quarries, tin and copper mines, railways and viewpoints.
Included are four guided
walks, and extensive sections and photographs on the landscape,
archeaology, and
industrial heritage of the area, including the methods used in
quarrying and mining.
(Minions is just five minutes drive away up on the top of the
Moor from Redgate Smithy).
Price £5-40
